Joining the PGA Champions Tour has displaced Ray Martino's lifelong goal of playing for the Yankees. In case his performance at Q-school falls short (no 14-handicapper has ever made it), he'll remain at the agency, where he heads the Administrative Group and the PR team.
A graduate of St. John Fisher College with a B.A. degree in economics and Syracuse University with a M.S. degree in public communications, Ray has 38 years' experience in public relations and marketing communications. He spent 14 years in higher education administration and teaching before joining the agency world.
Ray is active in professional and community organizations, including: Public Relations Society of America-Rochester Chapter, American Association of Advertising Agencies (Regional Board Member), The Country Club of Rochester (Member, Board of Stewards), Sojourner House (Board Member), and Rochester Press-Radio Club. He formerly was a member of the Board of Trustees at WXXI Public Broadcasting, and served as President of the Small Business Council of the Rochester Business Alliance.
In 2007, Ray was the recipient of the PRSA-Rochester Chapter’s Sharleen M. Bruse Award. The Bruse Award is given to a PRSA member who epitomizes the integrity and professionalism of a public relations practitioner. Recipients are also very involved in community service and routinely help advance the career development of other chapter members.
Ray and his wife Jeannie have two adult children, Andrew and Olivia.
