Green Goodness

In the spirit of Earth Week, I wanted to share some timely green tech creations and ideas that are creating a buzz.
On the social media front, the sustainably focused Earth Protect lets people find and share videos and films on environmental issues and solutions, as well as learn more about how to take action. Think of it as a hybrid of YouTube and Facebook—only with elements of activism and sustainability. The goal is to help people and their organizations become more aware and informed about ways to protect the environment.
Mashable provides copious tools and tips on how to minimize your carbon footprint by utilizing calculators such as Terrapass, or social networking sites like Make Me Sustainable.
And for “ecoholics,” there’s now a mobile phone made completely from the plastic of recycled water bottles. The word is that this no-frills phone is functional, yet affordable (so if you’re hooked on the iPhone types, this is probably not for you).
Martino Flynn is taking strides, too. There are the usual suspects—like recycling paper and soda cans, and turning off our computers—that can add up and make a difference. We have a “Green Team” that aims to unearth more creative ways we can make a greater impact on the environment. The Martino Flynn site is hosted by a green service that applies several global protection practices. Additionally, partner Kevin Flynn is the president of the board of directors of the Center for Environmental Information—a non-profit that promotes sustainability and environmental protection of upstate New York.
Hey, it’s not always easy being green, but it’s nice to know that there are tools out there that can help!
