Personally, I now prefer to browse and bookmark mobile-optimized sites rather than downloading yet another app to clutter the homescreen. As mobile sites get more sophisticated, perhaps apps will be used more just for sites that require a payment to the programmer, and free apps are replaced with bookmarks.
