After four years of blogging, Martino Flynn decided to take its blog to the next level. With an increase in the amount that is posted and viewed online, video has become a popular and effective marketing communications tool. In an effort to add innovative video blog content to Blip, we created MFTV to: promote the agency’s video capabilities; highlight some of our client work; and provide employees with a platform to share expertise about a variety of integrated marketing communications topics.
Since the agency has two state-of-the-art high definition video suites and HD video equipment, each MFTV episode is a broadcast-ready production, completely developed in-house—from shooting HD video footage and animations, to sound design, color correction, and developing 3D graphics such as the MFTV logo.
When it came to designing the MFTV logo, Martino Flynn wanted to create an image that would be memorable and attractive. It was necessary for the logo to be recognizable and to have a consistent look and feel for all episodes.
A team comprised of a graphic designer/Web developer (Frank Piacitelli) and 3D design/animation specialist (Lauren McIlveen) developed a nontraditional 3D/animated logo that was substantial in size and bold in style—providing options for manipulating the graphic for an animation.
To tie the MFTV logo into the Martino Flynn brand, the team chose to include several of the agency’s brand graphics that are representative of our fun-loving culture. The final graphic shows the logo exploding into several signature Martino Flynn “thought bubbles” and ROI graphics, including a clock and a bowl of cherries—all which reinforce our “Return on Ideas” or “ROI” philosophy.
MFTV and its logo were recognized with Awards of Excellence in the blog and logo categories at PRSA Rochester’s 2012 PRism Awards. To view episodes of MFTV and see the animated logo in action, visit the MFTV section of Blip. As our host, Corrie Carter, always says—“It’ll be good.”
