Dick’s Sporting Goods Wanted Their Back-to-School Sales to Go to the Head of the Class.
When you’re a retailer like Dick’s Sporting Goods, students’ need for new footwear and apparel make the Back-to-School selling season second in importance only to the holiday gift-giving season.
As they have for more than a decade, Dick’s looked to Martino Flynn for a campaign that would boost store traffic and sales while continuing to reinforce their image as America’s premier sporting goods retailer.
After doing our homework on the teen target market, we developed a campaign that drove students into Dick’s stores by promising that Dick’s had all the hottest shoes, clothes, and gear to make the coming school year their best ever.
We drove home the “Your Year Starts Here” theme across the full media spectrum—from high-impact TV and radio commercials to graphic design and photography direction—for in-store signage, direct mail, catalogs, Dick’s website, and millions of weekly sales inserts.
