Martino Flynn, LLC received two awards at the 2006 Public Relations Society of America/Rochester PRism awards ceremony.

Martino Flynn received a PRism award for the news release “Introducing the PC Hydrogel Family of Contact Lenses,” created for CooperVision, a manufacturer of high quality soft contact lenses. As part of an aggressive marketing campaign to support the introduction of PC Hydrogel, new family of contact lenses, Martino Flynn issued a press release that positioned PC Hydrogel as a unique category of contact lenses that deliver a comfortable wearing experience that patients prefer over leading silicone hydrogels. News coverage was received in 100 percent of the targeted trade publications, generating nearly one million editorial impressions.

The agency was also honored with an Award of Excellence for “Launching PC Hydrogel: AAO Press Conference,” in the media relations category. Martino Flynn and CooperVision held a press conference at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Annual Meeting, one of the most prominent events in the eye-care industry, to introduce the new category of contact lenses to the industry. The press conference was an outstanding success, with nearly 100 percent of the invited trade media and analysts in attendance. This doubled the attendance goal set by the team prior to the event.

The PRism Awards honor outstanding public relations campaigns, materials, and events. Both corporate and not-for-profit sectors are recognized in various categories, including media relations, crisis and issues management communications, new product/service launch, and press kit, among others. The Rochester chapter’s annual PRism awards ceremony was held June 8 at The Lodge at Woodcliff in Fairport.
