Kevin Flynn, partner at Martino Flynn, was recently appointed president of the Center for Environmental Information (CEI) board of directors. He has been an active member of CEI for six years, and previously served as a member of the board of directors.

CEI has provided environmental communication, education, and information services to the Greater Rochester region for 32 years. The members of CEI believe that environmental health and economic vitality are mutually interdependent; so CEI acts as a facilitator, educator, and convener to promote informed environmental decision-making. CEI offers several programs to promote environmental protection, including community action for a renewed environment, Lake Ontario coastal initiative, and Rochester green business network.

“My goal as CEI board president is to make a positive impact on our natural surroundings,” said Kevin Flynn, partner, Martino Flynn. “I love the outdoors, and I believe that we all have a responsibility to improve our environment.”

Flynn is one-third owner and partner at Martino Flynn, LLC. He is an avid outdoorsman with a great passion for hiking and mountaineering. He is a two-time Adirondack 46er (someone who has climbed the 46 peaks that are 4,000 feet or higher) and has climbed and hiked throughout the Northeast. In addition, Flynn has climbed the “Seven Summits,” the highest peak on each continent. To date, he has climbed Mt. Everest (Asia), Mt. McKinley (North America), Kilimanjaro (Africa), Aconcagua (South America), Mount Kosciuszko (Australia), Elbrus (Europe), Carstensz Pyramid (Indonesia) Mount Vinson (Antarctica).

Flynn authored a book about his attempt and summit of Mt. Everest, entitled, Mount Everest: Confessions of an Amateur Peak Bagger.
